Torches of Inspiration

In a year when the United States boycotted the
Olympics, the Soviets produced a torch bearing
a red star. The gold and silver torch has a cup on
top of a burner and the handle is shielded by a
protective screen.

Leningrad Enterprises made 6,200 gas torches
designed by Boris Tuchin. It was registered at
the State Registry of Inventions and given
Inventor's Certificate No 729414.
